Hair transplants consist of removing tiny plugs of hair from areas where the hair is continuing to grow and placing them in areas that are balding.  The procedure usually requires few sessions. Results, however, are often excellent and permanent.

About Hair Loss

Male pattern is usually occur commonly in men. More often, it follows a pattern of receding hairline and hair thinning on the crown, and is caused by hormones and genetic predisposition.

Hair grows an estimated an inch every couple of months. Each hair grows for 2 to 6 years, remains at that length for a short period, then falls out. A new hair soon begins growing in its place. At any one time, about 85% of the hair on your head is in the growing phase and 15% is not.

Each hair resides in a cavity in the skin called a follicle. Baldness in men occurs when the follicle shrinks over time, resulting in shorter and finer hair. The end result is a very small follicle with no hair inside. Ordinarily, hair should grow back. However, in men who are balding, the follicle fails to grow a new hair. Why this occurs is not well understood, but it is related to your genes and male sex hormones. Even though the follicles are small, they remain alive, suggesting the possibility of new growth.

Most Popular Hair Procedure:

 1. (Follicular Unit Extraction) FUE

Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) is a method of obtaining donor hair for Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT), where individual follicular units are harvested directly from the donor area, without the need for a linear incision. In this hair restoration procedure, a 1-mm punch is used to make a small circular incision in the skin around the upper part of the follicular unit, which is then extracted directly from the scalp.

Advantages FUE:

1. Minimally invasive

2. No suture removal required

3. No discomfort in donar area

4. Decreased incidence of complications in the donor area

5. Useful in harvesting donor body hair

Disadvantages FUE:

1. Diffuse scarring to donor region

2. Increase follicular transection

3. Much more labot intensive than strip method

4. Much less hair maybe available for grafting compare to the strip excision.

2. Strip Excision

Strip incision is a method of donor-site harvesting.  In this procedure, we retrieve healthy hair from the back of the head by removing out a linear strip in the scalp. Strip incision is the most common technique for removing hair and follicles from a donor site.

The Strip Incision Procedure:

1. A local anesthetic is given for pain.

2. The surgeon begins by taking out strips of tissue from the donor site (usually from the back of the head).

3. After the strip incision has been made, the wound is closed with sutures or staples.

4. The surgeon later dissects the follicles from the strip. The amount of hair dissected is dependent upon the selected type of hair transplant. The surgeon removes single follicles for follicular unit extraction or small groups of follicles for mini-micrografting. Sometimes, depending on the size of the balding area, the follicles must be removed in larger groups.

5. The dissected follicles are transplanted into the scalp. The procedure may take a few sessions to complete.

This is a traditional reliable effective method of hair transplantion on the head.
